Eli

Eli has always been quick: quick to smile, quick to run, quick to pick up a golf game, and quick tempered! In June of 2009, he began slowing down. Despite multiple doctors' visits and even a trip to the dentist and Emergency Room, we still had no idea that cancer was overtaking his blood.? Eli was diagnosed with pre-B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 2. He fell into a high-risk category, and underwent 12 months of induction chemotherapy (the most intense phase).

He began maintenance chemotherapy on July 30, 2010 and will continue this phase of treatment until November 11, 2012.?Despite being isolated from family and friends, frequent hospitalizations and clinic visits, and numerous side effects from chemotherapy, Eli is resilient.

We have realized that Eli was made quick for a reason: he is quick to fight. He spends his days playing Star Wars, hitting golf balls, laughing with his brother, and fighting cancer.? We are very grateful that there are treatments available, but we are certain that research can improve outcomes and lessen side effects. We are relentless in our hopes and prayers for an amazing outcome for Eli, and are grateful to all of the Good Cookies who are fighting for our family.
