Jake

Jake was diagnosed with Stage III Wilms Tumor, a rare kidney cancer, in June of 2018 when he was just 4-years-old. Due to the cancer, Jake had to have his right kidney removed, followed by six sessions of radiation and six months of chemotherapy. Shortly after Jake finished treatment, he had emergency obstruction surgery and was in the PICU recovering for five days. The obstruction was either a side effect of his previous abdominal surgery or the radiation treatment he was receiving. Jake has been seven months NED (no evidence of disease) and just recently had his port removed! This year Jake started kindergarten and his family and friends couldn’t be more proud of him and how far he’s come.
