Riley

Riley was diagnosed with Optic Hypothalmic Glioma when she was four months old. The tumor was the size of a lemon and it was considered inoperable. A month later, she started weekly chemotherapy in Charlotte, NC. Riley had surgery when she was three years old followed by several weeks of radiation. After radiation, the doctors found a new tumor in her brain that was also incurable. Riley passed away on September 5, 2007, just two months after her fourth birthday.

So many people knew Riley - she had friends all around town as well as in the hospital. She loved music, and she loved to dance! Riley had the chance to meet some of her favorite musicians - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. We all miss her dearly, but she will never be forgotten! We have a fundraiser each year in Riley’s memory. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is now our #1 spot for fundraising. Thank you to everyone who supports this organization for making a difference!
