Caelynn
Three-year-old Caelynn was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma on her left femur on September 13, 2013. This was just the beginning of her battle with this terrible disease. Her parents, family, friends, and our small community were all devastated by the news. However, we were all confident that with many prayers and support she would beat this disease. She is such a wonderful little girl who brings joy to anyone that meets her. From the beginning of her diagnosis she was given only two options: amputation or rotationplasty. After six rounds of chemotherapy the tumor had shrunk more than 50 percent, and radiation became an option to either save her leg or at least help save more bone for a better prosthesis. Following 31 rounds of radiation we received the news that no amputation would be necessary!
Caelynn has endured 17 rounds of chemotherapy and 31 rounds of radiation therapy. She has completed treatment, but her battle against cancer will continue by raising awareness and more funding for pediatric cancer. All this in hopes that no other child will have to endure all she has gone through, and so no other parent will have to hear those words, "Your child has cancer." We are hoping Caelynn's story will help bring awareness to everyone about this rare form of cancer. We are thankful for all the supporters of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
